Twenty Boy Summer – Sarah Ockler

Twenty Boy SummerTwenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

One of the best contemporary reads. EVER. You definitely won’t regret giving some of your time to reading this book.

Some thoughts:

If you came across this book and was hoping for a for a light, summery read, it’s not. IT’S MORE THAN THAT. It has a plot and plot twists that make you really think about things that are happening around you, and make you more aware of the world and how some people are feeling. It opens your eyes to a world filled with people that aren’t so fortunate to have none of their family/ friends pass away yet.

Sarah Ockler wrote this book in such a way that you feel the pain and sorrow of the characters in the book. It makes you feel that you’ve known them for years and are experiencing the hardships that they feel.

This isn’t a common best friend’s brother kind of book. It’s an epic twist of a common plot, and that’s why I highly recommend Twenty Boy Summer.
